The art of filmmaking illuminates narratives and communities that are often tucked away in society. These films are frequently complex, sensitive, and visually striking, resonating with audiences from a universal perspective. This poster/zine showcases three films, each with a selected excerpt, viewer reviews, and stills from the movie. As we delve deeper into the stories we tell, the illumination of humanity becomes ever clearer.

What extent of our surroundings can we truly perceive, and at what scale? This project challenges the limitations of the human naked eye by utilizing a highly accessible material—scotch tape—to capture textures within our environment. The comprehensive visual archive contains over 100 unique specimens, including risograph ink, dry leaves, and pencil shavings. Beyond mere documentation, it serves as a capsule encapsulating time, materiality, and the macroscopic view of objects in our immediate surroundings.

We Are On Borrowed Time delves into the issue of digital overconsumption through a critical lens, focusing on behavioral patterns that are often overlooked. The project culminates in an installation consisting of various components, from traditional print media to digital manipulation. They serve as a means to raise awareness, with no restrictions on the tools or execution. The emphasis lies in how each medium enhances its message. It hopes to begin, and end, with one central question: How much do we consume, and how much of us is being consumed?
